History of Water Day
First of all, in 1992, the United Nations organized a conference on the issue of environment and development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since then, World Water Day started being celebrated every year on 22 March. As a result of these tireless efforts, in the year 2010, the United Nations recognized the right to safe, clean drinking water and sanitation as a human right.
