Central Board of Secondary Education, on 11 March 2022, released the Term 2 date sheet for Class 10 and 12 on its official website cbse.gov.in. The exams are to start from 26 April 2022 and end on 24 May 2022 for Class 10 and 15 June 2022 for Class 12.
The second term exam is to start with a minor examination for both higher classes. For Class 12, the first paper held will be on Entrepreneurship while for Class 10, it would be on Painting.
The exams have been spread over a long period to give ample preparation time to the students. The schools being closed due to the Covid pandemic has led to learning losses. The gap in examinations was given to fill this loss in almost all subjects in both Class 10 and Class 12. Where the gap is lesser, the exams have been scheduled at later times to allow students to have sufficient preparations for the examinations.
The exam will be subjective type and the time given to students will be 2 hours to complete the examination. The examination is in offline mode and will be held at different centers. The start time of the exam is 10:30 am and will last until 12:30 pm. The exam will be conducted in a single shift.
The board has also considered the dates for the competitive exams, including, JEE Mains while deciding the timetable for board exams. As per the circular, the date sheet was prepared by avoiding nearly 35,000 subjects’ combinations to ensure no two subject exams of a student fall on the same date.
