A Strong, 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits North Japan; Tsunami Alerts Issued.

A powerful earthquake jolts North Japan on Wednesday night in the region of Fukushima. In the region of Fukushima, there was an earthquake tremor about 11 years ago triggering a nuclear disaster.

On Wednesday the earthquake struck was of 7.3 magnitudes. The power was cut down of almost 2 million homes in the area.

According to AFP news agency reports, the convulsion was so potent that people were struggling to even standstill, and the buildings rattled in the capital, Tokyo. Two people died and 90 people were injured. The temblor showed up at 23:36(14:36 GMT) reaching the depth of 57 kilometers. After the quake, a tsunami alert of one meter was issued by Japan’s Metrological Agency.

Many people got injured by falling off the objects and tremors. The local news reported the death of a man in his sixties. Also, a bullet train got off the rails due to the shake. Although there is no news of injury or death was reported.

Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida informed the media that the government is working on evaluating the extent of the damages.
