India’s biggest drone festival was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday as he highlighted the role of drones in governance and other initiatives. “Every stall that I went to, I was proudly told this is Make-in-India”.
Over 1600 delegates comprising government officials, foreign diplomats, armed forces, central armed police force, drone startups and more are participating in the drone festival, as per the prime minister’s office.
Union aviation minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said: “It is estimated that the drone industry will reach ₹15,000 crore turnover by the year 2026. Today, there are 270 drone startups in India.”
