Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, praised the squad for making a “strong comeback” against South Africa in the recent T20I series.

Sanjay Bangar, a former Indian batting coach, also  stated Hardik Pandya has developed into a flexible player who can bat at any position in the batting order regardless of the game’s circumstances.

After being put into bat, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan each scored fifty runs, and Hardik Pandya’s finish helped India reach 179/5.

India may have finished with a total of less than 160 if it hadn’t been for another brilliant cameo from Hardik Pandya, but they managed to get to 179.

Suresh Raina, a former Indian cricketer, said: “Many congratulations to the Indian team on their brilliant win. What an outstanding display of game by the entire team. A superb knock by Ruturaj Gaikwad and sensational performance by Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel. Well played boys!”

South Africa’s pursuit was thwarted by Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal, who claimed four and three wickets respectively. The Proteas were eventually sold for 131 dollars.

In 2022, India won 11 games under regular captain Rohit Sharma. They have, however, lost all of their other seven games this year under different captains. In his maiden assignment as India’s captain, Pant has now lost two games in a row. Without the veteran players on the team, he now faces an uphill battle.

In the first two games, the South Africans have found players who have put their hand up. If David Miller and Rassie Van van Dussen surprised India in the first game, Klaasen surprised India in the second T20I.
