Let us burst top 7 Hymenoplasty myths

According to a popular opinion among the team of doctors at the best Hymenoplasty hospital in Delhi, despite the many benefits provided by Hymenoplasty, women cannot take decisions or action due to fear and confusion. This fear and confusion arise as a result of misconceptions about the process of Hymenoplasty. Today with the initiative of spreading awareness about the facts associated with Hymenoplasty we have listed down a few myths along with their facts, that you must check out.

  1. Hymenoplasty grants you virginity

Generally, women think that hymenoplasty is the master key to attaining virginity back. However, hymenoplasty is a restorative surgery in which the parts of the already existing torn hymen are attached in such a way so that it gives the appearance of an original hymen. As per the gynaecologist at Hymenoplasty hospital in Delhi virginity once lost can never be restored in place. It is important to note that it is not necessary that the hymen may rupture as a result of penetrative sexual activities. It can also tear apart due to strenuous physical activities or accidental injury. Moreover, there is no point in linking virginity with hymen as hymen can rupture due to a variety of factors.

  1. Hymenoplasty is an expensive technique

Women think that Hymenoplasty is a very expensive procedure and that it might cost them heavy in their pockets. But the fact is that Hymenoplasty is quite affordable and the charges may vary depending on the condition of the patient and the experience and knowledge of the doctor. It is best advised to consult a doctor who is well trained, experienced and has successfully performed Hymenoplasty procedures in the past.

  1. Hymenoplasty negatively impacts the menstrual cycle

There is no such scientific evidence which proves that Hymenoplasty which is not an invasive technique or procedure influences the menstrual cycle in any way. Since the Hymenoplasty is performed at the surface level, it has nothing to do with the disruption of the menstrual or the period cycle. Periods can be influenced or disrupted as a result of many other factors.

  1. You cannot use a temple or masturbate post Hymenoplasty

The doctors indeed recommend patients avoid inserting any penetrative objects such as tampons immediately after the surgery but there is no evidence that these can never be used. Once the healing occurs, tampons can be effectively used. Also, you can masturbate normally as you did before the surgery.

  1. Hymenoplasty increases the risk of urinary infections

There is no scientific evidence which proves that urinary infection can be triggered as a result of Hymenoplasty. Hymenoplasty has nothing to do with the risk of urinary infections. These may occur due to several other reasons such as lack of intimate hygiene, poor diet, or dehydration.

  1. It may take up to months to heal post hymenoplasty

This is completely false about Hymenoplasty. As per the director of Hymenoplasty hospital in Delhi, Complete recovery takes nearly about three to four weeks and the stitches dissolve within 15 to 20 days from the date of surgery. With the advancements in the technique, recovery from Hymenoplasty takes less time.

  1. You can not wear tight clothing post hymenoplasty

Your gynaecologist or surgeon may advise you to avoid wearing any type of tight clothing immediately post the procedure or during the recovery process as this may lead to discomfort but it does not mean that you have to restrict wearing tight clothing always
