Never-before-seen details are shown in new Titanic footage

A brand-new 8K resolution Titanic video has surfaced, providing a sharper view of the ship’s components. According to Daily Star, the film, published on Tuesday, is the first of its sort since the Titanic sank in 1912, 110 years ago. The 200-pound anchor chain, enormous portside anchor, and single-ended boiler that went to the bottom of the ocean as the ship split in two, according to the news source, are all visible in the footage. One of the deadliest maritime tragedies to occur during a time of peace.
OceanGate Expeditions, a firm that offers diving excursions, has recorded the footage and uploaded it to YouTube. Since the Titanic sinking in 1912, the better resolution’s incredible amount of color detail has not been seen before.

“On the port-side anchor, I had never seen the manufacturer’s name, Noah Hingley & Sons Ltd. I’ve studied the wreck for years and taken several dives. Still, I don’t remember ever seeing another photograph with this much detail, “Roy Golden, a diver and Titanic specialist, was quoted by the source.

According to GeekWire, the business took the footage on an eight-day trip in the North Atlantic in May of this year. OceanGate currently intends to visit the wreck once a year to monitor alterations in the vessel’s state over time.

According to Stockton Rush, president of OceanGate Expeditions, “the incredible detail in the 8K film will assist our team of scientists, and marine archaeologists assess the degradation of the Titanic more precisely when we acquire additional footage in 2023 and beyond.”

Around 1,500 people perished when the ship, making its inaugural trip from England to New York, struck an iceberg and sunk.
