According to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his country wants friendly relations with India that include ‘’a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.” He stated that his country wants to have peaceful relations with India based on “equity, fair, and mutual respect.” “and the resolution of the Kashmir conflict, according to a Friday media report. Sharif additionally pleaded for the international community to take on a “facilitative role.” “in the middle of a thawing in bilateral relations over the Kashmir problem and cross-border terrorism coming from Pakistan, it added, to maintain long-term peace and stability in South Asia.

In order to maintain long-term peace and security in South Asia, he said, the international community must take a facilitative role in this situation. India has often expressed to Pakistan its wish for friendly neighbourly relations in an atmosphere free of animosity, terrorism, and violence. According to India, it is Pakistan’s responsibility to foster an atmosphere free from terrorism and antagonism.

After India stated in August 2019 that it will revoke Jammu and Kashmir’s special powers and split the state into two union territories, the two countries’ relations further deteriorated. Jammu & Kashmir was, is, and will always be a part of India, the latter has frequently told the former. It further counselled Pakistan to acknowledge reality and put an end to all anti-India propaganda.
