For two tests, eight ODIs, and five T20Is, New Zealand will visit Pakistan

The twin tours to Pakistan by the New Zealand men’s cricket team were confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday. From December 27 to January 15, the BlackCaps will play three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League games and two Tests as part of their defense of the ICC World Test Championship title before returning for five T20Is ODIs from April 13 to May 7.

Kane Williamson’s team will play tests in Karachi (December 27–31) and Multan during the first phase of the Pakistan trip (January 4-8). They will travel back to Karachi for the three ICC Super League games on January 11, 13, and 15.

The test in Karachi will be New Zealand’s first visit to the major metropolis since October 1990. It’s still there.

They will host the second Test between Pakistan and England (December 9–13), followed by the second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand, after hosting three ODIs against the West Indies in May.

Four Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will kick off New Zealand’s second leg of the Pakistan tour in Karachi (April 13, 15, 16, and 19). The fifth T20I and two ODIs will follow in Lahore (April 23, 26, and 28), and the last three ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi (May 1,4, and 7).

The test in Karachi will be New Zealand’s first visit to the major metropolis since October 1990. Multan has also had a special year this year.

In a formal media statement, Zakir Khan, PCB Director of International Cricket, stated: “We had assured our ardent supporters that we would provide top-notch domestic, international cricket in 2022. As part of that commitment, New Zealand’s double visit to Pakistan was announced today.”

“New Zealand is a high-performing team, and the more matches we play against the best teams in our backyard, the stronger we will get as a team, which is essential to achieving our goal of finishing in the top three in all formats. Our children will also have the chance to continue watching and following their favorite players in action, something they lost. At the same time, we were forced to play our international cricket abroad, thanks to New Zealand matches, “Added he.

The Future Tours Program is responsible for the first phase of the visit, which consists of two Test matches and three ODIs. The ten white-ball matches in April and May are intended to compensate for the canceled September 2021 tour.

Pakistan is now in fifth place, while New Zealand is eighth in the ICC World Test Championship. Pakistan and New Zealand are currently ranked fourth and sixth in the ICC Super League, a competition that qualifies for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
