After he met with King Charles II, the new UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised that “work would begin immediately.” Within an hour, he had begun to fulfill that pledge. According to sources, he has requested the resignation of several of Liz Truss’s cabinet colleagues to reveal his new government.
Three ministers have already been requested to resign. According to insiders, they include Development Minister Vicky Ford, Justice Secretary Brandon Lewis, and Business Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg. According to reports, Jeremy Hunt will continue serving as the finance minister.
Mr. Sunak pledged in his maiden speech as prime minister to put “economic stability and competence at the center of our government’s mission.”
He declared that his election was an effort to correct the “mistakes” of his predecessors, adding that “trust is earned, and I will earn yours.”
Mr. Sunak said his administration would fulfill its commitment to a stronger NHS (National Healthcare system), better schools, safer streets, support for the armed services, leveling up, and job creation.
He stated it will have “ethics, professionalism, and responsibility at every level.”
