Heeseung, the popular member of K-pop boy band ENHYPEN, leaves the group to build his solo career. The artist, in a handwritten note, expressed gratitude and looked back on his journey of six years and thanked his fans for supporting him.
2026 has been surprising the world since the beginning of the year with unexpected twists in the world events, and the K-pop industry has been untouched by it. One of the most popular boy groups, ENHYPEN, is going through tough transitions as one of the members is leaving the group.
Heeseung, the heartthrob of girls and boys alike, had decided to leave the group for good. The statement by the agency of ENHYPEN Belift Lab dropped at 3:00 Am KST. The statement said, the agency Heeseung "has his own distinct musical vision" and we agency respects it wholeheartedly.

“Hello, this is BELIFT LAB.
We would like to express our gratitude to ENGENE for their unwavering support for ENHYPEN and provide information on ENHYPEN’s future activities.
BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration to ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision, and we decided to respect it.
As such, Heeseung will be parting ways with ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members.
It’s difficult to relay the whole process through a short notice, but this decision comes after extensive deliberation. We understand this news may be difficult for fans to accept, but we hope you will understand that it was made with the future of both ENHYPEN and Heeseung in mind.
ENHYPEN will continue to share energetic performances with ENGENE, and Heeseung will prepare a solo album as an artist under BELIFT LAB.
We ask for your continued love and support for both ENHYPEN and Heeseung as they begin a new chapter.”
Heeseung wrote a handwritten note to express his thoughts:
“Hello, this is Heeseung. I’m writing this because I felt I should speak to ENGENE directly after the news that surprised many of you. After a lot of thought and conversations with the company and the members about the direction I want to go in the future, I came to the decision to start a new chapter. The six years I spent with the members and ENGENE were so precious and overwhelming that it’s hard to describe them in words. Because of ENGENE’s love and support, I was able to stand on stage and achieve dreams that once felt impossible. There were many things musically that I wanted to try and express, and I felt that pursuing them through a new path would allow me to show more of who I am. I’m truly sorry to ENGENE, who must have been surprised and worried by this sudden announcement. I will work hard and prepare so that I can meet you again soon with better music and a better 모습 (side of myself). Thank you sincerely for loving me and supporting me until now.
I will always cherish the memories I made with ENHYPEN and ENGENE.”
Fans had previously reacted to the continuous release of albums, many concerts, too many schedules, the stress, and mental and physical exhaustion seemed apparent. Online hashtags and posts like “Let ENHYPEN rest” and “BELIFT LAB treat ENHYPEN better” circulated on social media, but the company did not react to it or take it any step.
