Kpop Demon Hunters wins two Golden Globes

At the 83rd Golden Globes awards, the animated Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters", one of the most successful projects of the OTT platform, bagged two awards, one for best animated film and the other for best original song for "Golden".

It is nearly impossible not know about K-pop Demon Hunters and their songs like Golden and Soda pop which have gained millions of views on YouTube and on music platforms.

At the prestigious Golden Globes, which honours artists from both films and Television, the decision was made to award K-pop Demon Hunters in two categories against big names in the industry.

The first category was the best animated film, and the second one was Best Song Motion Picture. The song "Golden" went viral for its strong and affirmative lyrics.

In the acceptance speech, EJAE, who is a songwriter, composer and singer, spoke about her struggles, and the song is a reflection of her journey, just like anybody who has a dream. “When I was a little girl I worked tirelessly for 10 years to fulfill one dream, to become a K-pop idol… and I was rejected and disappointed that my voice wasn’t good enough, and so I leaned on songs and music to get through it, so now I’m here as a singer and a songwriter, it’s a dream come true to be part of a song that’s helping other girls and other boys and everyone of all ages to get through their hardships, to accept themselves.”

She ended her speech with “So thank you, Golden Globes, for accepting my voice and our voice. “This award goes to people who’ve had their doors closed on them. Rejection is re-direction. It's never too late to shine like you were born to be”

Fans were happy to see a deserving winner of the award and expressed their though social media, one user wrote, "Ten years of refinement show. This isn’t a viral song—it’s a disciplined composition that survives outside the film."
