Elon Musk asks people to vote for Andrew Cuomo and deliberately says “Mumdumi or whatever his name is” to mock Zohran Mamdani. The upcoming New York City election is to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Elon Musk Mocks Zohran Mamdani
- The richest man in the world, CEO of Tesla, and the former Head of DOGE, Elon Musk, has openly mocked the Democratic Party’s pick for the New York City Mayoral Election to be held on November 4, 2025, while endorsing former New York City Governor Andrew Cuomo. Elon Musk asked the people of NY to avoid voting for the Democratic Party. He intentionally wrote "Mumdumi or whatever his name is" to mock him publicly.
- On the day of the election, Elon Musk posted, "Remember to vote tomorrow in New York! Bear in mind that a vote for Curtis is really a vote for Mumdumi or whatever his name is. VOTE CUOMO!" This tweet post garnered instant attention and was labelled Elon Musk as Islamophobic. Several comments under the tweet called out Elon Musk and said he wants to endorse the one who benefits him. A user wrote, "The 2025 New York mayoral race reveals a new wave of unfiltered Islamophobia. Zohran Mamdani isn’t attacked for his policies, but for who he is."
- Donald Trump backed Andrew Cuomo and said exactly what Elon Musk posted on X in a press conference. He said he aims to restrict the federal funds if Zohran Mamdani wins in New York City. “If Communist Candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the Election for Mayor of New York City, it is highly unlikely that I will be contributing Federal Funds, other than the very minimum as required, to my beloved first home, because, as a Communist, this once great City has ZERO chance of success, or even survival! It can only get worse with a Communist at the helm, and I don’t want to send, as President, good money after bad.”
- Zohran Mamdani has been engaging with people and holding rallies; he has spoken against the current government. He has claimed that once he is in power, he will work towards "lowering costs and making life easier”. At several gatherings, he spoke about homelessness in the country and inflation. He says, "What I propose is New York values, want to fund our public schools, fix our hospitals, and guarantee a home for every New Yorker."
- Zohran Mamdani has been predicted to win the election in New York. He is in the race with the Republican Nominee, Curtis Silwa and the independent nominee and former democrat Andrew Cuomo. Polymarket reports he has 92% chance of victory. Former US President Obama endorsed him in the last few days before the election and praised his distinctive style of promoting. Zohran Mamdani's "new kind of politics" is impressive.
- Zohran Mamdani is a democrat, born in 1991 in Kampala, Uganda, to Parents of Indian Descent and moved to the US at the age of seven. He attended New York University (NYU) School of Law in 2017.
