Mark Zuckerberg's Recruitment drive continues with “The List” but what is it? And what are the criteria laid, AI Talents hired so far, packages and more….
Mark Zuckerberg is ambitious about bringing revolution in the field of Artificial Intelligence by assembling the geniuses in the industry by will or by force but anyhow. He has been offering mind-blowing packages, worth more than $1 Billion. According to trusted sources and watchdogs he is on the lookout for the top researchers of AI startups and Phd holders from Elite Institutions.
Due to rejections, it has made the owner to recontinue the drive with strategies and precise planning. Mark Zuckerberg supervises the recruitment himself with an aim to recruit the best from the well reputed Schools and Best companies. He has created a superintelligence lab which is supposed to be a hub of AI geniuses heading towards the goal of inventing AI Tools and redefine what we now mean by Artificial Intelligence.
The superintelligence lab was created with the aim to employ the AI talents in the industry as a result numerous Tech geniuses were contacted to offer them the packages which were much bigger than their current ones. Recently, the CEO Mira Murati of The Thinking Machines and AI Startup revealed that some of her employees were contacted and lured with whooping $1 Billion to leave her company and join them but nobody accepted.
It seems like the superintelligence lab is not fascinating any AI talent despite the packages.
Due to the slow recruitment process Mark Zuckerberg has come up with another plan.
“The list” is a part of their recruitment drive. As per the wall street journal, there are certain conditions. Consider this as a secret file.
“The recruits on “The List” typically have Ph.D.s from elite schools like Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon. They have experience at places like OpenAI in San Francisco and Google DeepMind in London. They are usually in their 20s and 30s—and they all know each other. They spend their days staring at screens to solve the kinds of inscrutable problems that require spectacular amounts of computing power.” Briefly mentioned Wall street Journal.
Mark Zuckerberg has been closely observing the process and even personally recommended certain people of his own acquaintances. So far, 44 people are hired where half of them are Chinese with two Indians. These employees are bagging a package of between $10 million to $100 million. The team is led by alexandr Wang, former CEO of Scale AI Now meta’s chief AI officer along with Nat Friedman Former CEO of Github AI.
The Indian origin Employees are Trapit Bansal, who is a IIT Kanpur graduate with a PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst worked at OpenAI, facebook, Microsoft Research, google Research and Hammad syed who cofounded PlayAI in 2021, His team is now set to merge with meta’s AI Ventures.
