SC orders Stray dogs to be released after vaccination, No feeding to be Allowed

Supreme Court Has ordered that all the stray dogs are to be released after vaccination but No one Should Feed them, Violation may lead to serious legal Consequences.

• On 22 August 2025, Supreme Court ruled out its Verdict and It’s a matter of Rejoice for the Dog Lovers and Animal Enthusiasts. SC Modified Its Verdict on August 11, and said all the Stays are to be sterilised and immunised, return them to the same area they were picked up from.
• There is an exception to this rule: not all dogs are to be released. Dogs infected with rabies and Suspected to spread the disease will not be released back to the streets along with Dogs with Aggression. These Dogs are never to be released again and Will be kept in shelters.
• The Released Stray Dogs are to be Carefully Observed by the Municipal Bodies, Feeding Spaces are to be Created in every Ward. “Feeding areas shall be created by civic bodies keeping in view population and concentration of stray dogs in particular municipal wards.”

• SC stated No street Feeding to be allowed by Common people or NGOs. If Someone is found to be violating the Rule, They’ll have to face heavy legal repercussions. Municipalities are directed to Create a Helpline dedicated to reporting such incidents.“Persons found feeding the dogs on the streets in contravention of the above direction shall be liable to be proceeded with against under the relevant legal framework”
• “Each Municipal Authority shall create a dedicated helpline number for reporting incidents of violation of the above directions, On such a report being received, appropriate measures shall be taken against the individuals/NGOs concerned.” SC Directed
• The SC order on the Rehabilitation of stray dogs, a huge protest erupted in the national Capital demanding withdrawal of the rule. Since, The Supreme court has ruled in their favor, Dog lovers are happy and satisfied. Various Activists expressed their thoughts on the ruling. “Very happy” Said Maneka Gandhi, Indian Politician. The Previous order was ruled out in the view of Alarmingly Rise in the spread of Rabies and Dog Bittings.
