Tata Sierra is officially back! Features, specs, variants and availability of the relaunched legend

Tata has relaunched the legendary Sierra model after two decades. Tata referred to the launch as “rebirth of a legend” and unveiled it at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The iconic car exhibits a retro and contemporary design, incorporates a new 1.5 litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol engine, with a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh. 

Tata Sierra relaunched: SUV lineup of Tata Motors

The legendary model “Sierra” has been relaunched by Tata Motors, which was earlier a part of the SUV lineup, which also includes Punch, Nexon, Harrier and Safari. The model was discontinued two decades ago due to market shift and design limitations. The Tata Sierra was popular in the 1990s and known as “India’s first lifestyle SUV” with a 3-door Design. The iconic car has just made a comeback, “modern design with a vintage soul”, stunning features, unmatched durability and design that everybody admires. 

Specs 

• It is built on the new scalable ARGOS platform, which supports ICE and future EV variants as the company is planning to launch its electric version. 
• The model is powered by the new 1.5 litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol engine with power and torque of 1700 PS and 280 nm. 
• Sierra is engineered with a 6-speed Manual and a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). 
• The model will be available in 4 personas: Smart+, Pure, Adventure & Accomplished across 3 engines and 5 transmission options. 

Features 

• The model offers multiple engine options. Tata Motors PV's MD & CEO, Shailesh Chandra, said “Premiumisation is the heart of the Sierra experience," at the launch event of Sierra.
•  Dashboard offers a triple-screen layout, which is backed by “TheatrePro” setup. 
• Customers can avail the joy in every ride with full reclining seats, Wireless charging, a 360° camera, and an electronic parking brake. 
• Special attention had been paid to the passenger safety with Safety suite including 6-airbags, crash protection and Level 2 ADAS-driver assistance features. 
• The electrical/infotainment architecture uses the new TiDAL 2.0 system, which provides customers with an enhanced experience. 

Design and Variants 

The model will be available in four personas: Smart+, Pure, Adventure & Accomplished across 3 engine and 5 transmission options. The car is available in six colour variants, including the likes of Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Munnar Mist, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Andaman Adventure. The design of the Tata Sierra is retro-inspired and reflects the designs of 90s. 

Price 

Tata Sierra has been launched with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 11.49 lakh
