Venezuela President Maduro captured by the US, emergency declared

US President Donald Trump has announced an air strike on Venezuela and captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The Venezuelan government has asked for proof of the life of the captured leader.

Around 2.00 am local time in Venezuela, seven rounds of explosions were heard in the capital of the country, Caracas. Eye-witnesses of the incident shared that they saw low-flying aircraft, and blasts were heard. He region faces electrical outages and fear due to the unexpected action carried out by the US military. 

President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country. President Trump has informed the world about the air strike and the capture of the leader. The U.S has called it “Large-scale strike,” and targeted at Nicolás Maduro. 

Nicolás Maduro had been facing several charges, including Narco-terrorism. The Venezuelan government has condemned the action and called it “Military aggression” and asked for proof of life of the President and his wife. The existing government has declared an emergency in the country, and the future of the country is unclear. 

The country has been facing a severe economic and political crisis for years under the rule of Nicolás Maduro, with unemployment, inflation, corruption, and censorship. Over 8 million people left the country in search of a decent life. Maduro received criticism not only from Venezuela but also internationally.
