Ravi Shankar Shukla was born on 2 August 1887 in Samhoi village of Raipur district. His family had an important place in the society, and his educational life was also very inspiring. He joined the Indian National Movement after completing his education.

Ravi Shankar Shukla raised his voice against British rule and actively participated in the freedom struggle under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. He raised his voice against the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and fought hard. He was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi and was inspired by his thoughts.
After India attained independence, the state of Madhya Pradesh was formed in 1950. At this time Ravi Shankar Shukla was elected the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. He started many important schemes for the development of the state, which improved education, health and infrastructure in the state.
Ravi Shankar Shukla's life was a symbol of his dedication towards the society. Through his policies, he took many steps for social reform, equality and justice. His leadership ability gave a new direction to the state and helped make Madhya Pradesh prosperous.
Ravi Shankar Shukla passed away on 31 December 1956. His contributions will always be remembered. He was not only the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh but also a powerful leader and social reformer. Even today his contribution is alive in our hearts and his ideology guides the progress of society.
