This new subway will reduce the distance between metro station and IGI airport

It has now become very easy for passengers to reach Domestic Airport Metro Station from Terminal 1 of IGI Airport. Now commuters will not have to ask anyone about the way to reach the metro station. Apart from this, now there will be no need for them to walk 200 – 300 meters. They will see the way to reach the metro station in front of them after exiting the Arrival Gate.

Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, DMRC has built a new subway here. It has been open for the use of passengers since Wednesday. Through this subway, you will be able to enter directly to the metro station. Now passengers leaving from the T1 terminal of the airport will now be able to reach the departure gate easily after leaving the station.

DMRC Principal Executive Director Anuj Dayal has said that this new 130 meter long underground subway will further improve the connectivity between Terminal-1 of the airport and IGI Domestic Airport Metro Station of Magenta Line. The new subway was formally opened to the general public in the presence of DMRC's Managing Director Vikas Kumar. There are lifts and escalators on the subway. Here the passengers bring heavy luggage with them, keeping in mind that the weight carrying capacity of the lift has been kept high here. The lift here can take 26 people at a time. Art work has also been used to make the place more beautiful.

This subway should have been opened long ago. But due to Corona, there has been a lot of impact on the Metro and this project was also adversely affected.
