After the case was registered, the Saket court had ordered the production of the accused in 2019. Petitioner Manoj had argued that no case was made out against him, as the complaint was not made out by the proper authority or officer. A hearing was held in the Delhi High Court regarding this matter.

Furthermore, the court said that the purpose of controlling fetal sex information is to protect pregnant women and their unborn children. The demand of an individual to quash the FIR made under various sections of the Act has also been turned down.
