India reported 6,563 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, 7.3 per cent lower than yesterday, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

This brings the country’s cumulative caseload to 3,47,46,838. Total recoveries were at 3,41,87,017 across the country. A total of 8,077 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is now at 98.39 per cent.

India's active caseload stands at 82,267. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 1,646.

Among all the states, Kerala reported the highest Covid-19 cases at 2,995, followed by Maharashtra with 902 cases, Tamil Nadu with 610 cases, West Bengal with 565 cases and Karnataka with 300 cases.

These five states accounted for 81.84 per cent of the daily new cases reported on Saturday, with Kerala alone responsible for 45.63 per cent of the fresh infections.

In the last 24 hours, 132 people succumbed to Covid-19, increasing the total reported death count to 4,77,554. Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (96), followed by Maharashtra with 9 daily deaths.

A total of 15,82,079 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,37,67,20,359.
