KCR’s dream temple project is to be inaugurated today.

The newly renovated temple Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple gets inaugurated on March 28, Monday in the southern state’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. It is called to be Telangana CM's dream project. The inauguration of the temple was followed by eight days of Ankurarpana (initiation) from March 21, with the undertaking of Maha Sudarshana Homam on a  75-acre site at the foothills of the temple.

Previous year in October, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, the spiritual guru of Telangana CM K Chandrasekar Rao, finalized the re-opening Muhurat of the temple but due to the pandemic, the inauguration was delayed.

According to reports, The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple has been constructed with 2,50,000 tonnes of black granite. The reconstruction of the temple is done at the cost of Rs.1280 cr.  however, the work is still in progress. Around thousands of sculptures and workers are on duty to complete the work.

"The ground area of the temple has been increased from 11 acres to 17 acres. This is the biggest temple in the world that has been constructed completely with stone," Anand Sai, the chief architect of the temple, told news agency ANI.

The main attraction of the temple is the Prahlada Charithra sculptor representing the story of Bhakta Prahlada. The architectural style of the temple is a combination of Dravidian and Kakatiyan styles.

CM KCR participated in the ‘Ygnam’ which was part of the inauguration. The whole state cabinet attended the grand opening of the temple. The rituals of the temple will go on for the next seven days. The arrangement for a large number of devotees had been handled by the authorities. The temple can only accommodate 10,000 devotees at once.
