UNESCO gave the status of “City of Music” to Gwalior and “City of Literature” to Kozhikode.

UNESCO has included music emperor Tansen’s city Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) and Kozhikode city of Kerala in the Creative Cities Network. UNESCO has given the status of “City of Music” to Gwalior and “City of Literature” to Kozhikode.

City of Music

Madhya Pradesh has received a big gift from UNESCO on its foundation day (1 November), UNESCO has given the status of City of Music to Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh. Gwalior has been very rich and historical in music. After UNESCO declared Gwalior as a Music City, Gwalior will now be shown as a world heritage site on the UNESCO website. Let us tell you that on the UNESCO website, famous cities of art, music, crafts and food will be displayed in these heritage places. After becoming a music city, Gwalior will also be included in the international tourist plan, this will further promote tourism in Gwalior.

Prime Minister congratulated

Expressing happiness on this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Instagram that, Gwalior and music both have a very special relationship, it is a matter of great pride for Gwalior to get the biggest honor from UNESCO. The musical heritage that Gwalior has cherished and enriched, its echo is being heard all over the world today. I wish that this city takes the tradition of music further, so that the coming generations can get inspiration from it.

Jyotiraj Scindia had written a letter to UNESCO

Jyotiraj Scindia had written a letter to UNESCO in June to include Gwalior among UNESCO cities. In which Scindia had told about the great culture and music history of Gwalior, and also mentioned the great musician Tansen of Gwalior Gharana. Which was one of the nine gems of Akbar.

Kozhikode becomes City of Literature

सिटी ऑफ़ लिटरेचर UNESCO ने ग्वालियर को “सिटी ऑफ़ म्यूजिक” और कोझिकोड को “सिटी ऑफ़ लिटरेचर” का दिया दर्जा 

Along with Gwalior, UNESCO has given the status of City of Literature to Kozhikode city of Kerala, Kozhikode is the first city in India to get the title of City of Literature. This city has a unique place in the world of literature.
