Being a mother is the most beautiful feeling in the world but some women are deprived of this pleasure. Although nowadays women do not have to face any kind of problem in becoming a mother. Women can also fulfill their dream of becoming a mother through artificial procedures such as IVF and IUI.

What is IVF?
IVF which means In Vitro Fertilization i.e. test tube baby technique is such an in vitro fertilization, in which more eggs than normal are made by medicines and injections in the uterus of women. Then through surgery, the eggs are mixed with the husband’s sperms prepared in a culture dish in the lab and kept for 2-3 days for fertilization. Ultrasound is used in this entire process. Finally, after examination, the embryo made from it is implanted back into the woman’s womb. After implantation of the embryo in the uterus, its success and failure is known through blood or pregnancy test in 14 days. Due to this, the chances of a woman becoming a mother are up to 70%.

What is IUI?
IUI means intrauterine insemination is a method of artificial insemination. In this process, the sperm of the male are first cleaned. Then at the time of ovulation of the woman, the doctor injects these sperms into the uterus through a thin plastic catheter tube. But before that, a woman trying to conceive has to take fertility drugs to produce eggs and stimulate ovulation, so that an embryo can form in the womb.

Chances of Pregnancy with IVF and IUI:
⦿ Women have a 10 to 20 percent chance of getting pregnant with each IUI cycle.

⦿ The more cycles you go through, the better your chances become. However, studies show that women in their 20s and 30s have the most success when getting pregnant through IVF and other reproductive technologies.

⦿ The success of the technique is known after 12-14 days in IVF. In IUI treatment also results are available only after 12-14 days.

⦿ In IUI the quality of the embryo cannot be tested, in IVF the quality of the embryo can be seen first. In IUI there are more possibilities of multiple birth and danger to the health of both mother and child, in IVF in today’s time the possibility of multiple birth is less, the chances of birth of a healthy child are more.

Some people think that the baby is not yours in the IVF or IUI process but these are very misconceptions. In this, the egg is from the wife and the sperm is from the husband. The child born from this treatment belongs to the husband and wife only.
