What was said in the budget regarding Lakshadweep?

The Union Finance Minister said that people’s interest in tourism is increasing in India. Therefore, keeping in view this interest, new port connectivity projects will be started on all those islands including Lakshadweep. Also, it has been announced to increase the budget by two percent for the tourism sector.

In this he will emphasize on branding and marketing of India’s tourist destinations at the global level. Along with this, it was also stated in the budget that the central government will also give interest free loans to the states for a long period of time for this development.

How much will this benefit the travelers going to Lakshadweep?

• To go to Lakshadweep one has to obtain an entry permit. But you don’t need this to visit Andaman. However, it was made online some time ago, so that people can take the permit online.

• Through this project, passengers will be able to get more air facilities to go to Lakshadweep. Actually, only Alliance Air flights go to Lakshadweep. However, after PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep, many other flights have also started. But this flight is only till Kochi.

• In such a situation, due to lack of direct connectivity to Lakshadweep, passengers have to face problems. That is why it has been said in the budget to bring this project to end this problem.
