According to sources, US State Secretary Antony Blinken acknowledged India's steadfast support of the nation by delivering pharmaceuticals at a time when the US was severely impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak during the ministerial roundtable on resilient supply chains.
The US received thousands of tablets of hydroxychloroquine from India. Anti-malarial medication hydroxychloroquine is thought to be effective in treating Covid-19.
A Supply Chain Ministerial Forum was co-hosted by Blinken and Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo on July 19–20, 2022, with the goal of strengthening partnerships with important partners and stakeholders.
According to the US Agency for International Development (USAID), India helped the United States out when it was in need, and now the US is supporting the Indian people as they fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The USAID also made a USD 41 million announcement in June 2021 to support India's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the nation's readiness for COVID-19 and future health emergencies.
Participants at the summit included government representatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the European Union, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
