The social media platform's "tremendous potential" was finally unlocked when billionaire Elon Musk won the battle to take over Twitter. According to many US media sites, shortly after that, he dismissed Twitter's CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and director of legal affairs Vijaya Gadde.
The former finance officer recently updated his social media profile. Now it says, "Former CFO, current @Twitter fan, dad, husband, passionate San Franciscan, Giants fan, and chocoholic." He/him"
"Thursday finished five years @twitter," Mr. Segal said in a lengthy thread that was posted on Twitter. I'm glad for the chance to have worked on creating the world's town square with such a fantastic bunch of our stakeholders. The work isn't complete, but we made meaningful progress."
He continued by saying that he has high hopes for the business and that the past six months have been challenging and unexpected. Mr. Segal added, "Every mental muscle I've built over the course of 48 years has been put to the test over the past six months. When life is difficult and unpredictable, we learn so much when we are worn out or feel like our integrity is being called into question. Our group stayed kind, considerate, and steadfast. They have been pals forever."
"I have a lot of faith in Twitter. At its best, it ensures accountability and fair information sharing while democratizing communication and knowledge. Each person who contributes to the task has a great deal of responsibility. I wish them courage, insight, and foresight," the former social media site CFO continued.
Mr. Segal received many thanks from coworkers for his contributions to the business. They noted that he would be missed for his leadership and physical presence in the workplace. Another coworker chimed up, "Thanks, Ned! You represented the best of Twitter."
