‘RRR’ became the first Indian film nominated in the Hollywood Critics Association Awards in the best picture category.

SS Rajamouli's epic action-drama 'RRR' has become the first-ever Indian film nominated in the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Awards.

It has received a nomination in the Best Picture category.

RRR faces tough competition from other popular Hollywood films that have been nominated, as announced on Wednesday. The contenders include Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise and The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.

RRR has continuously been praised by Hollywood celebrities. American stand-up comedian and actor Patton Oswalt was so impressed with RRR that he recommended it to everyone. “You guys are out of your f**king minds, you should not be allowed to make films, and I can’t wait to see what you do next,” he wrote in one of his tweets. The Hindi version of the film also became the most-watched non-English film on Netflix.
