Nitish Kumar Was Unable to Attend President’s Swearing-In Due to COVID: Report

A top source informed Press Trust of India that Nitish Kumar was ill and unable to go to New Delhi for President Droupadi Murmu's inauguration on Monday.

According to sources, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has secluded himself in his home on the advice of physicians after testing positive for COVID-19.

They said that Mr. Kumar also had the infection in January of this year and had just minor symptoms.

"He has sequestered himself at his home at the advice of his medical team. In a statement, he had been unwell for the previous two to three days, "The Chief Minister's Office said.

The statement said, "The Chief Minister has asked all individuals who have interacted with him in the past two to three days to be tested and take the appropriate measures."

Nitish Kumar was ill and unable to go to New Delhi for President Droupadi Murmu's Monday swearing-in event, a top source informed news outlet Press Trust of India.
