Basketball official, 25, dies in the upstate after falling off a moving train

Officials said on Monday that a 25-year-old man passed away nearby Kanpur after reportedly falling from a moving train.
According to them, the event happened on September 24–25 between Ekdil and Bharthana railway stations in the Kanpur–Tundla division while Yashvardhan Rana, a basketball referee, was traveling on the Sangam Express.

Along with the Meerut squad, Rana traveled to Kanpur for the 61st Uttar Pradesh basketball competition at Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Yadav Paramedical College. Rana is also a trainer at the Modi Sports Academy in Meerut.

Rana lived in Civil Lines in Meerut, according to Kapil Dev Singh, the superintendent of police for the city of Etawah.

While the basketball team was traveling in the S-3 and S-7 coaches, he was in the S-5 vehicle. On Sunday morning, when the train arrived at Kanpur station, a search effort was started because Rana had not been discovered inside the carriage.

Later, a corpse was discovered next to a railroad track in the Etawah district's Bharthana station. Once they arrived, Basketball Association officials recognized the corpse.
