Property dealer in Gurugram shot and killed; family refuses to turn over body: police

In the early hours of Sunday, an unidentified assailant shot and killed a 42-year-old property trader as he was sleeping, according to police in Gurugram.
According to them, the man's family has so far declined to turn over the body to the authorities and hasn't even made a formal complaint.

Two armed men shot and killed Dharmesh Yadav of Dundahera village at approximately two in the morning while resting in his still-under-construction home in sector 22.

After the murder, the culprit ran away, but a worker sleeping in the same building raised the alarm and told the family, according to DCP Deepak Sarahan.

He said that when a police team arrived at the scene following information gathering and attempted to take the body into custody, the family members objected and demanded the arrest of the accused first.

"Since the family hasn't made a complaint or handed us the corpse, the motive for the murder hasn't yet been determined. Crime units have begun their investigation, and we are waiting, "explained the official.
