Robbers lock a bank employee in the restroom and flee with millions of dollars’ worth of gold.

This evening, thieves stole 32 kg of gold, thought to be worth many crores, from a bank in Chennai. Before robbing the FedBank Gold Loan in the city's Arumbakkam neighbourhood, three men in masks trapped the employees inside a bathroom.
"They stole the strong room's keys, imprisoned the staff members in a bathroom, and then made off with the gold in tote bags. The branch claims that 32 kg of gold was stolen "The criminals' method of operation was disclosed by Police Commissioner Shankar Jeewal.

According to authorities, the robbery was thought to be an inside job.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, TS Anbu, informed NDTV that "one of them is suspected to be a current employee of the branch."

The value of the stolen gold is estimated to be many crores. However, the senior police officer stated "It is being inventoried. After completion, only then would we have the precise sum ".

Meanwhile, a security guard who claimed to be affiliated with the gold loan business said in a video that NDTV was unable to independently verify, "I turned asleep after I sipped the soft drink they served me."

"Everyone is now fine. No employee is asleep. The guard had no suspicions because one of them was an employee "Added a police officer.

There weren't many people there to work on accounts today because the branch was closed.
