Tata Sons’ Chief N Chandrasekaran Appointed as Air India Chairman.

Tata Sons’ chief, N Chandrasekaran has been appointed as AI chairman by the board on Monday.

J R D Tata, the founder of AI remained the chief of the airlines for years. In February 1978 Morariji Desai government removed him from the post. Then in 1982, he was reappointed as the chief of the AI. Ratan Tata was AI chairman From 1986-87 till 1990.

Now after almost a decade, the Tata group is back again as the captain of AI. After the airline's nationalism, the Tata group officially returned to AI after almost 69 years.

Ratan Tata welcomed the passengers by a voice note that said-” The Tata group welcomes Air India's new customers and is excited to work together to make Air India the airline of choice in terms of passenger comfort and service”.

The chairman of AI N Chandrasekaran's first priority is to get a professional Chief executive officer for the Airline.

The former Turkish Airline chairman Ilker Ayci was likely to be appointed as the CEO and MD until he declined the position. Some sort of controversies were going which led to his declination of the position.

The new CEO will be appointed soon. The chairman is taking a personal interest in the procedure and conducting board meetings on a regular basis, said the officials.
