Unsettling Video of Indian-Origin Family’s Kidnapping and Later Death

The bodies of the four Sikh family members, including a newborn, who were abducted earlier this week in California, were discovered near an orchard on Wednesday.
Aroohi Dheri, who is eight months old, her mother Jasleen Kaur, 27, her father Jasdeep Singh, 36, and her uncle Amandeep Singh, 39, were abducted on Monday at a place of business in Merced County.

The Merced County Sheriff's Office had broadcast horrifying security footage of the family's kidnapping hours before their remains were discovered.

Jasdeep and Amandeep Singh can be seen exiting the building with their hands zip-tied together in the footage shown on American news networks. A little while later, the gun-wielding kidnapper pulls Jasleen and her 8-month-old child, Aroohi, out of the house and into a truck.

The abduction came to light when the police received a call about a burning automobile. The automobile was Amandeep Singh's. When no one was home, the police called a relative who could not get in touch with the family. Family members were reported missing. The Sheriff's office, including the FBI and other agencies, launched an investigation when security footage showed an abduction.
The dead were discovered last night by a farm worker working next to the orchard, who called the police immediately. The bodies were all found together.

Jesus Manuel Salgado, the suspect, attempted suicide before being taken into custody on Tuesday.

According to the Sheriff's office, Salgado's relatives called officials and said he had confessed to them that he was involved in the kidnapping.
"There's a special place in hell for this guy," said Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke on the suspect.

The Sheriff told reporters, "There are no words to express the rage I feel.

The family was from Hoshiarpur in Punjab.
