Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death anniversary

Today is the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Remembering him on this occasion, PM Modi wrote on his Twitter handle, along with 140 crore Indians of India, I pay tribute to the incomparable Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his death anniversary. For the first time in the year 1996, he took oath as the Prime Minister of the country. After this he was the Prime Minister from 1998 and 1999 to 2004.

President Draupadi Murmu arrived to participate in the prayer meeting organized at the memorial ‘Sadaiv Atal’ of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and paid tribute to him by offering flowers at the memorial.

Many leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, including Vice President Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, PM Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to him by offering flowers at the memorial.

Vajpayee ji three times became the Prime Minister of the country

For the first time in the year 1996, he took oath as the Prime Minister of the country. After this he was the Prime Minister from 1998 and 1999 to 2004. He passed away on 16 August 2018 after a prolonged illness. He was the Prime Minister of the country for a total of three times. He was awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 2015.
