Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal The Shaheed Bhagat Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School opened on Saturday. Notably, this is the state government’s first entirely residential school. Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister and minister of education, and Ashok Gahlot, the minister of transportation, among others, were present at the occasion.

Sisodia added that the Desh bhakti curriculum will help pupils get ready for the nation’s armed services while speaking to the parents and kids who were chosen for the school.

In his 2021 Budget speech, Sisodia announced the establishment of an Armed Forces preparatory school as part of the government’s “Desh Bhakti Budget.”

Around 18,000 people applied for the initial batch of admissions, and 100 students were chosen. Kejriwal stated that the school had been constructed in less than a year when speaking to the cadets at the event.

The Shaheed Bhagat Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School, which bears Bhagat Singh’s name, would motivate kids to volunteer for the military, according to Kejriwal. At the age of 23, Shaheed Bhagat Singh gave his life. The fight for freedom cost the lives of many individuals. Every single kid who graduates from the school will be motivated by Bhagat Singh’s example, he promised. “Psychometric tests, mock drills, and personality development workshops will be conducted in the school to prepare children for the Armed forces including the NDA and the Naval Academy,” the chief minister said.

The chief minister said, “About 18,000 applicants applied for the school, and the children were chosen after a difficult selection process.” Through individual and group assignments, simulated interviews, psychometric tests, and workshops on personality development, the fully residential school will instruct students. Students from Delhi will attend the school because it is associated with the Delhi Board of School Education.

He stated that the pupils will be coached by retired service members from the armed forces. The institution will be a part of Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE).
