Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is in the US: When India Speaks, the World Listens

On Saturday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla spoke with people from the Indian diaspora and Indian students studying in the United States. He said the voice of the nation reverberates around the world because its democracy is the most dynamic and vibrant.
When Mr. Birla arrived in Boston, he paid visits to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University (MIT). There, he engaged in interactions with the faculty, resource people, and students.

According to a release from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Mr. Birla spoke with Indian students and diaspora residents while sharing the country's growth story. He also added that the world values the work ethics and culture of the Indian diaspora highly. He added that when called upon in times of need, members of the Indian diaspora have always aided both their home countries and those in which they have resided.

Mr. Birla stated that the Indian democracy is the nation's greatest asset and that it has hastened India's development.

"The Indian democracy is the most dynamic and vibrant one and that is why India's voice reverberates around the world. Today, the world listens when India speaks," he said.

Additional topics covered by the speaker included policy interventions for women's empowerment, communication, and rural development.Furthermore, he claimed that India's rise as a centre of global manufacturing is being facilitated by its independence.
