J.P. Nadda, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Monday accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) administration of giving tacit encouragement to those who engage in violence by branding Kerala as a hub for terrorism and fringe elements.
He was addressing the crowd after launching a convention of booth presidents in the nation's capital as part of efforts to maintain the party apparatus prepared for the next elections.
"Kerala has now become a hot spot of terrorism. Life is not safe here. Ordinary citizens do not find themselves to be safe. Communal tensions are on the rise and there is tacit support of the Left government to the people who create and promote violence,'' Speaking at a gathering of booth office-bearers in the state's capital, Nadda
The BJP leader continued by claiming that Vijayan's family is also becoming involved in governmental affairs and that the Left party is succumbing to family or "dynastic rule" because "daughter, son-in-law involvement in government is also seen".
Nadda previously claimed that all opposition groups are state or regional parties and that the majority of them are "family parties." The BJP chairman made reference to the event in Haryana when leaders of many opposition parties gathered to demonstrate their solidarity.
He said that appointments are being made "based on nepotism" in universities in Kerala.
