Jailed AAP Leader, Sanjay Singh will not take Oath as a RS MP till Privileges Committee disposes of matter!

As per the sources, AAP leader Sanjay Singh as a Rajya Sabha MP for the second time could not swear in on Monday. Despite directions from the Rouse Avenue Court, the oath-taking was not included in the list of business for the day.

Sanjay Singh was arrested in October in connection with the Delhi excise policy case and is still in custody under the Enforcement Directorate (ED). While being in custody, Singh moved to the court to be able to take oath in the ongoing Budget session as the court had allowed him on 3 February to take oath on Monday.

According to sources in the office of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, the house had passed the directions that Singh would remain suspended till the Privileges committee disposes of the matter against him. They added that there had been no communication from the Rajya Sabha to the chairman for the consideration of the matter.
