Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Mueller of Bayern Munich Have Positive COVID Tests Ahead of Their Match With Borussia Dortmund

Just one week before they play Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Mueller of Bayern Munich tested positive for Covid-19. The announcement that both players have "no symptoms" and are now in home isolation came from the German champions late on Saturday afternoon.

Both will miss Saturday's match against Dortmund but may still be eligible to play in the team's upcoming Champions League match against Viktoria Pilsen.

They participated in Bayern's commanding 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at home on Friday.

Leon Goretzka, a midfielder, and captain Manuel Neuer returned to Bayern on Friday after spending a week in Covid isolation after testing positive while representing Germany.

Mueller and Kimmich were also present at the Germany Nations League camp.

Kimmich, who had previously refrained from getting the vaccination owing to "fears and anxieties," received it at the beginning of 2022.
