IPL 2023 points table rules

In every match, there is some set of rules that have to be followed in order to calculate the points, rankings and winner of the match. The BCCI has set some guidelines for the game that needs to be followed. Some of the rules are as followed:-

  • In every match, the winning team is awarded two points, while the losing team gets zero. In case, the match is abandoned or set off due to some reason, both the teams get a point each.
  • If two teams have the same number of points, the team that has a higher number of wins would be declared victorious and in case the number of wins is also the same, then all the decisions come to the NRR(Net run rate). The higher the run rate, the more close the team is towards winning. The run rate is calculated by how much margin a team wins or loses the game.
