Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on 7 December in India. This day is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of Indian Armed Forces personnel for the security of the country. The purpose of Flag Day is to express gratitude for the selfless contribution made by soldiers towards the nation.

The primary objective of the Armed Forces Flag Day is to collect funds from the people of India for the welfare of the armed forces personnel including the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and ex-servicemen. The money collected from distribution of flags and donations on this day is used for the welfare of serving personnel and their families. The contributions received are used for various welfare activities such as rehabilitation, housing, education, health care and other support services.
