Rani Chatterjee is an Indian actress, who predominantly works in Bhojpuri films. Rani comes from a Muslim family and her real name is Sahiba Shaikh. Apart from Bhojpuri films, Rani has also worked in Hindi films and Hindi web series. Rani started her film career with the 2004 Bhojpuri film Sasura Bada Paise Wala.
Rani Chatterjee was born on November 3, 1979 in a Muslim family in Mumbai. Rani’s real name is Sahiba Sheikh, Rani has completed her entire education from Mumbai. Rani’s dream was to become an air hostess, but fate made her become a queen of Bhojpuri films.
When Rani was in 10th, she worked with actor Manoj Tiwari in her first film Sasura Bada Paise Wala, the audience liked Rani’s acting in this film and the film proved to be a hit. After this, Rani kept getting offers for Bhojpuri films and Rani gave all the hit films in Bhojpuri cinema. Most of the films became hits in Rani’s name only. When Rani was working in her first film Sasura Bada Paise Wala, there was a scene during the shooting, in which Rani had to shoot a scene in the temple of Bholenath. After the shooting, when the media and people living near the temple asked the name of the heroin, the director felt that the shooting might be stopped because it was a Muslim heroine. Because of this, he named that heroin Rani and this name brightened Rani’s fortunes. She gained immense fame with the name Rani Chatterjee.
