About Sudarshan Setu

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 'Sudarshan Setu' in Dwarka, Gujarat on 25 February. This cable bridge connects Okha to Beyt Dwarka situated in the middle of the sea. If we look at its length, it is about 2.32 kilometers long. Bet Dwarka is an island near Okha port, about 30 km from Dwarka city, where the famous Dwarkadhish temple of Bhagwan Krishna is located.

The construction of this bridge was approved by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in the year 2016. Prime Minister Modi had laid the foundation stone of the bridge connecting Okha and Bet Dwarka on October 7, 2017. Earlier its estimated cost was Rs 962 crore, but later it was increased.
