      Akashiganga Temple, Arunachal Pradesh

      This temple is situated in Arunachal Pradesh and was built to worship Mata Sati. It is believed that the head of Mata Sati had fallen here after its mortal form was destroyed by Lord Vishnu using the Sudarshan Chakra. Because of this a huge amount of devotees are seen visiting this holy shrine every year.

        Tripura Sundari Temple, Tripura

        Also known as Matabari, this holy shrine is established upon a small hillock. It is considered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Legend says that the little finger of the left leg of Sati fell here. Here, Shakti is worshipped as Tripurasundarī and the accompanying Bhairava is Tripuresh. It was erected by the Maharaja of Tripura Dhanya Manikya in 1501 CE. This is a very important location for the Hindus of the area.

          Shri Govindajee Temple, Manipur

          This is the largest Vaishnava temple situated in the Impal district of Manipur. It is dedicated to the Hindu deities Lord Krishna and Radha, and was built during the reign of Maharaja Nara Singh. Every year Janmashtami is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fan fare, and a lot of people travel all the way to Manipur to celebrate this festival and worship the deity.

            Nartiang Durga Temple, Meghalaya

            This is a 600 year old temple located in the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, and is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the Shaktism of Hinduism. It is believed that the goddess’s left thigh had fallen here. The Hindus of the area believe that it is the permanent abode of Goddess Durga. Every year, a large number of devotees visit this holy temple to get the blessings of the Devi.

              Dimapur Kalibari, Nagaland

              This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is situated in Dimapur, Nagaland. This is one of the most famous hindu temples in North East India.
