Ex-skipper Rohit Sharma rumoured to leave Mumbai Indians and enlist himself for the Mega Auction after being replaced as the team captain by Hardik Pandya for the IPL Season 2024
IPL franchise Mumbai Indians is again in the headlines after former skipper Rohit Sharma is rumoured to leave the team amidst captaincy row with Hardik Pandya. This 17th season of IPL witnessed a lot of major changes; with Shubman Gill taking over as the captain of Gujarat Titans and Hardik Pandya replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain of Mumbai Indians.
Sharma was reportedly “unhappy” with the decision of removing him as the captain of the team. He was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the new team captain for Mumbai Indians for the year 2024.

Mumbai Indians has been getting a lot of attention over the past few weeks, especially with the consecutive losses that it has been facing. Fans have been trolling the new skipper Hardik Pandya rigorously after he replaced the former captain Rohit Sharma.
As per the reports, Rohit Sharma has become unhappy with the captaincy of Hardik Pandya this season. This has supposedly caused a rift between the two in Mumbai’s dressing room. Moreover, losing three consecutive games has made it worse for the franchise and has garnered more backlash from the fans after the major decision of changing the captain.

With Hardik’s arrival in Mumbai Indians, Sharma’s ten year tenure as MI’s captain came to an end in this IPL season- which left fans and experts divided.
