This time, he has been accused of cheating by the complainant, Vidnyan Mane, who said Palaash Muchhal took ₹40 lakh from him for a film project titled Nazaria, and offered him credits and returns. As an investment deal, he agreed to pay the sum, but things were never discussed further, and it appeared that it was a fraud that Mane had landed in.
Vidnyan Mane approached Sangli district police and registered the complaint on Wednesday evening. As per Vidnyan Mane, he is the childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana and a film financier was introduced to Palaash Muchhal by Srinivas Mandhana (father of Smriti Mandhana) during a visit to Sangli.
Palaash Muchhal said he was planning to make a film, "Nazaria", after the film releases on OTT, Mane could earn a profit of Rs 12 lakh on an investment of Rs 25 lakh. He also offered him a role in the film. He invested, but nothing happened later that compelled him to take legal action against Palaash Muchhal.
No First Information Report has been registered yet, but the preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Sangli district Police over the complaint registered. Palaash Muchhal has resorted to silence and has not reacted to the accusations.
