- Ganesh Chaturthi is a 10 day Hindu Festival, a celebration of Lord Ganesha’s birth. He is the God of Wisdom, Prosperity and Remover of Obstacles (Vighnaharta). Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi was popularized particularly in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Rule. This Festival played a significant role in uniting people and celebrating Lord Ganesha.
- Ganesh Chaturthi became a public celebration by the efforts of Indian Freedom Fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak in 1893. It was a way to resist Britishers and their unjust policies. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth day of Bhadrapada month (Aug-Sep) and continues for 10 days.Like Every year, Bollywood is all geared up to celebrate one of the biggest Festivals.
