Shah Rukh Khan receives Best National Actor Award for the film Jawan

Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan receives his first National Award for the film Jawan after three decades of his career and he shared the award with Vikrant Massey, who also won in the best actor category for 12th Fail. 

Shah Rukh Khan wins the National Award 

  • After three decades of Shah Rukh Khan’s acting career, he has finally won his first National Award for the film Jawan which grossed over ₹1,148 crore (approximately $140 million) making it his career's highest grossing film till date. His performance was highly appreciated by audiences and critics. He is one of those few actors in the Indian film industry who has held on to their popularity for the longest time.
  • The actor wore black bandhgala to receive his award from the honorable President Droupadi Murmu on 23rd September 2025. He was seen sitting with Rani Mukerji who also won National Award for Best Actress for the film Mrs. Chatterji Vs Norway, which was based on a real incident.
  • Winning National Award is a prestigious milestone for any artist and Shah Rukh Khan must have felt accomplished. Shah Rukh Khan started out with performing in the theaters and then worked for the television with his first show Fauji (1989) a military training series where he played the lead Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai and later played in another popular show Circus.
  • In 1992, he debuted in bollywood with the movie Deewana alongside Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor. He played the role of passionate lover Raja Sahai and his performance was applauded by the audience.
