The strike will disrupt transportation, block roads, and some institutions may remain closed. There are several reasons that led the workers to protest against the new labour codes that pose a threat to job security, raises question on the wages being paid to the workers, employment issues, MGNREGA & rural job concerns, privatisation of public sector units and banks, and outcomes of the India-US deal that could heavily impact the dairy/agri sectors.
10 central trade unions, including the Indian National Trade Union Congress and All India Central Council of Trade Unions, will stage the protest. Even though the strike looks forward to raise voice on big issues, the strike may not disrupt the daily life of the commuters, students, and consumers.

Slight impact can be observed in public sector banks, Public transports, Markets & shops, Government offices and some schools/colleges, but the emergency services like hospitals and ambulances will remain open. Check whether banks and Government offices are open before visiting.
India consolidated old labour laws into 4 new Labour Codes, which covered Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code, Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code and Social Security Code was seen as a threat to the working conditions of the labourers, as well as the proposed India-US deal, which will impact the agri sector of the country.
